The U.S. Vs. U.K.

Leukemia in the U.s is very critical. Their is 47,150 new cases of Leukemia being diagnosed this year. Their is an estimate that 23,540 people will die this year because of leukemia. In the UK their was 8,302 people diagnosed with leukemia in 2010. Their was 4,504 deaths caused by leukemia in 2010.

Leukemia

Leukemia is a cancer that occurs when the bone marrow produces abnormal white blood cells. Their is two types of Leukemia, chronic and acute Leukemia. Chronic Leukemia is when the illness it develops slow, and Acute Leukemia is when it disease develops fast. 

Leukemia is 25% of the childhood cancers. It affects 2200 children in America. 
98% of the children suffer from  Acute leukemia.

Why did you choose your topic?

I chose this topic because I know many people that have suffer or are suffering of cancer. Also I will like to learn more about the disease. Since leukemia affects mostly affects children i thought it was a great topic to talk about. another reason is because people need to learn about this silent disease.
